Lorraine and Carolina Road
Pinecastle recording artists Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road have a distinct sound and charismatic stage show, which sets them apart from many traditional bluegrass bands. Affectionately known as the “Lady of Tradition” in bluegrass, Lorraine has fronted Carolina Road for over 15 years. The band’s distinct sound and old time flair can be attributed to the bluegrass-rich area of North Carolina from which they hail and borrow their name. As the founding member and band leader for Carolina Road, Lorraine Jordan’s showmanship and chemistry with the audience makes the group one of the most popular bands among bluegrass fans today. The band has a large following and a fan club of 600 active members. They have partnered with Southern Travel of Raleigh, NC, and already have a tour bus of fans headed to 6 of their show dates this year. Hard work has paid off for this dynamic bluegrass band, earning them over 100 performances each year throughout North America at more than 60 major festivals. Carolina Road plays worldwide and headlines a National Bluegrass festival, Christmas in the Smokies. They have hosted the Canadian Bluegrass Awards, toured Europe, and played 15 bluegrass cruises. Carolina Road’s performance is a traditional sound with a fresh approach, which includes invigorating instrumentals, smooth blending vocals, and all the energy that you can stand! Lorraine Jordan and Carolina Road are just coming off of having two national #1 bluegrass hits with “A Light in the Window Again” and “That’s Kentucky”, which was “Song of the Year – 2015 SPBGMA.” Their newest release, Country Grass, has a stellar line-up. This project was recorded at Skaggs’ Place Studio in Hendersonville, Tennessee and Eastwood Studio in Cana, Virginia. The project includes 11 country and bluegrass legends: Lee Greenwood, John Conlee, Jim Ed Brown, The Kentucky Headhunters, T.G. Sheppard, Lynn Anderson, Eddy Raven, Crystal Gayle, Marty Raybon, Jesse Keith Whitley, and Ronnie Reno. Lorraine Jordan has won two IBMA Recorded Events of the Year Awards, 2009 and 2011. She just won SPBGMA’s 2015 Traditional Female Vocalist of the Year and is a finalist for the 2015 Carolina Music Awards in the Bluegrass Americana category. Carolina Road has some of the top musicians in the industry including Ben Greene (banjo), Josh Goforth (fiddle), and Jason Moore (bass). Ben Greene is SPBGMA’s 2015 Banjo Player of the Year and has two banjo cd projects receiving national radio airplay. Josh Goforth, multi-instrumentalist, was a 2009 finalist for a Grammy Award for a project he produced and recorded on, titled “Cuttin Loose.” Tommy Long, who sings lead vocals on both of Carolina Road’s # 1 hits, has a great cross-over voice for the Country Grass sound . Jason Moore plays an upright bass with the drive and timing that brings their hard-driving music together. Brad Hudson on dobro has a great lead voice for any type of music, and like Josh, is a multi-instrumentalist. With this combination of musicians, the energy and charisma, Carolina Road is one of the most sought out bands today. -
Coddle Creek
Coddle Creek is a high energy creekgrass band from the foothills of NC in beautiful Coddle Creek! It's traditional bluegrass music with a kick,we like to play fast and let our light shine bright!!! The sweet harmonies and dueling acoustic guitars of longtime friends Travis Weddington and Adam Lawrence are like no other. Travis Weddington is from Coddle Creek, NC. He grew up playing traditional bluegrass with his family. Travis then got bit by the blues bug, under the wing of Rusty Barkley in the Part Time Blues Band. Shortly thereafter, Travis started ripping up electric guitar leads for the "improvisational project band Duk Tan”. His vocals songwriting and acoustic guitar licks are the icing on the cake in Coddle Creek. With his original songs, vocals, and acoustic guitar picking, Adam Lawrence is a large part of the sweet sounds of Coddle Creek. After hearing recordings at a young age of his father, Jack Lawrence, and the late Doc Watson, Adam dove into the guitar and hasn't looked back. He has had the honor to play on stage with many of the great flatpickers of our time, which only increases his desire to play. Adam’s influences include the late Doc Watson and his father, Jack Lawrence, to Django Reinhardt, Clarence White, Bryan Sutton, Stephen Mougin and far too many others to include. Adam also enjoys branching out with many different genres, from progressive blues and most recently jam bands. Adam continues to redefine and create his own style of flatpicking with traveling and playing any kind of music nationwide. Dave Mclendon, the veteran musician and long time bass player for Duk Tan, hails from the backwoods of Richfield, NC where you can hear the slapping of the cat gut on the hollow body of a sexy stand up fiddle off in the distance, if all is quiet and you put your ear to the ground...Just listen, you'll hear it! Steven Davidson has been all around this great country of ours and played with some of the living legends of our time. He's toured around with Spongecake and the Fluff Ramblers holding down the low end but barely holding his eyes open behind the wheel of their slow moving van! Steven has twice the strings now and he's using every one of them and chucking his way along with the Coddle Creek crew! He's a well rounded musician and the perfect fit for this group of misfits, plus, the Mandolin makes him look alot bigger than the bass does! Waylon Bayard will be making appearances from time to time when the spirit of the night comes calling him to lay down a sweet beat to some creekgrass music, like a train chuggin' down the line! Waylon has been holding down the tempo for some time now with all types of bands and music is his genre, the kid can make any song, no matter how rough, smooth as silk! Waylon is the long time drummer for Duk Tan and has toured the world with some great industrial bands such as Voodou and The Haitian Hate Gods and this has prepared him to go fast and shine with Coddle Creek! -

Wood Family Tradition
Wood Family Tradition Family values, legacy, faith, and humor are just a few things that Wood Family Tradition brings as a newly formed family band in the bluegrass genre. Music, however, is nothing new to this family. Stemming from the legacy of hard driving, traditional, and original bluegrass music that the legendary banjoist/singer/songwriter AL Wood and his band The Smokey Ridge Boys began in the 60’s, the members of this family band were raised on a strict diet of bluegrass and bluegrass gospel music. The Wood Family released their first album in January of 2015, containing 13 tracks of solid bluegrass material, most of which written by members of the family. Also, the family keeps in touch with their friends and fans via their Facebook page, Wood Family Tradition. Mike Wood — Guitar and Vocals Jason Wood — Mandolin and Vocals Bobby Wood — Bass and Vocals Mackenzie Wood — Vocals Chris Bryant — Banjo and Vocals — For Bookings Call (704) 902-0946 -

Hazy Ridge Bluegrass Band
Hazy Ridge Bluegrass Band is a local bluegrass band from Clemmons, NC that was established in 2014 with the husband/wife team, Vince and Dawn Myers. They are crowd favorites wherever they play, delivering their own heartfelt style of Bluegrass music. They also perform original material, Bluegrass Gospel and Classic Country with Bluegrass flair. All members of the band share a love of Bluegrass music and love sharing it with their audiences! They play at local restaurants, dance halls, festivals, fiddler’s conventions, parties and Churches. Vince Myers grew up in his dad’s guitar case, figuratively speaking. He has had a love of music from as far back as he can recall. Growing up, his dad, Roger Myers, played in a few bands and Vince went with him everywhere he played. Vince took up the banjo when he was 18 and has played in several bands over the years, including Tommy Drifter and the Lost Travelers and County Line Daredevils. He has always wanted a band of his own, so February 2014, he and his wife, Dawn Myers began Hazy Ridge Bluegrass Band, where he plays the banjo and helps out on vocals. He and Dawn started looking for others to join the band and the road has been a little rocky, they didn’t give up and they have been playing ever since. Vince says he is looking forward to what is in store for the band in the future. Dawn Myers has lived all her life in Clemmons, North Carolina on her Grandfather’s old home place. Dawn developed her love of music, sitting in her mother’s lap. She would sit and listen to her Mother and Aunt singing together and making that beautiful family harmony. At age 13, Dawn began singing in church with her Mom and has sung in the choir and other church groups for over 28 years. Dawn mostly sang Southern Gospel music, but has always had a love for Country music. She liked Bluegrass music, but when she met Vince, she not only fell in love with him, she also fell in love with Bluegrass music too. She was given the chance to sing with the Howell Osborne Band and sang with them for six months. Then she and her husband Vince decided to form Hazy Ridge Bluegrass Band. They have been singing together ever since. You will hear Dawn helping out on vocals and harmonies in the band. She loves every opportunity to sing and is excited to see what the future holds for Hazy Ridge!! Band members include: Vince Myers, Bryan Bogenburger, Reagan Hudson, John Erwin, Dawn Myers and not pictured is bassist Jesse Chattin. Check out the band on Facebook at Hazy Ridge Bluegrass Band. -

The Gospel Plowboys
The Gospel Plowboys, based in Salisbury, NC, came into existence August 12, 2012. It combines the talents of (left to right) David Brown (guitar/ bass), John Goodson (banjo), David Murph (mandolin), Andrew Brown (bass/dobro). Michael Jenkins (guitar) and Kris Miller (guitar). Between the six musicians, five are vocalists as well. While their music is what brings them to the stage, their mission is what brought them together first. Each member agrees that “Plowing the ground, planting the seed, that Christ died for you is our motto. When we play a date, our mission is to present heartfelt music with the message that Christ paid the ultimate sacrifice for all of us.” The way they dress has significance as well. The bib overalls, white shirt and red tie is in tribute to the thirties. Bluegrass style of music was in the making and our country was in terrible shape. Much like it is today. One big difference from then and now, was we were willing to put God first. That is what we have to do now. Check out our schedule on the website and come join us at the shows.
